Julia Marie Preston

Julia Marie Preston, 91, of Du Quoin, entered eternal rest on Thursday, December 11, 2003 at 2:11 A.M. at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
She was born at Tamaroa, IL, on June 13, 1912, the daughter of John and Pelagia (Boczek) Przygoda.
She united in marriage to Arol Preston on November 21, 1940 in DuBois, and he preceded her in death on November 15, 1982.
She had no children, but she was a devoted aunt to all of her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include sixteen nieces and six nephews including Catherine Jane Crain and husband Earl Dean (Skip) of Pinckneyville, Doris Jean Rottschalk and husband Richard of Du Quoin, Walter Przygoda, Charles Przygoda, Trudy Armistead, Mary Ann Schlipp, Virginia Enriquez, Evelyn Mazdra, Barbara Hinton, Francis Przygoda, Robert Przygoda, Mary Allmeyer, Jerome Ries, Eleanor Belinski, Dorothy Derhake, Joann Kujawa, Rita Gajewski, Connie Tomaszewski, Mary Dreas, Margaret Przygoda, Jerry Przygoda, and Shirley Trader.
She was preceded in death by eight brothers - Stanley, John, Casimir, Leo, Joseph, Daniel and Paul and Ralph in childhood, four sisters - Sister M. Theobald, SSND (Elizabeth), Frances Andrews, Catherine Ries, Clara McLain, three nieces, and eleven nephews, in addition to her parents.
Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 13, 2003 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Du Quoin with Msgr. Harry Jerome officiating.
Friends called from 10 A.M. to 12:30 P.M., Saturday at the Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin.
Rosary was prayed at 12:30 P.M., Saturday at the funeral home.
Interment was in the St. Charles Cemetery at DuBois.
Friends may make memorials to Sacred Heart Church, St. Charles Cemetery Fund, or Marshall Browning Hospital Tree of Life, where she was a nurse for many years.
